MINI PROMPT! Cold Hands

On my Instagram this week, I challenged my followers to write something based on the prompt "cold hands."

This week has been a little crazy and the writing gods were not smiling on me. I had a concept that I absolutely loved! I'll have to go back to it. But I just could not make it work in a narrative.

And it happens. Writing uses a muscle that can get tired and need rest. Especially you're spending a lot of energy in other places.

I still wanted to write something but instead of banging my head against the wall and forcing myself to write something that's the length of what I usually write but that I'm not nearly as happy with, I compromised by writing a few sentences about my concept in the hopes that I'll remember the overarching idea and come back to it.

So it is, Cold Hands:

I threw the first snowball, so I guess it was my fault. I just couldn't resist! He was out in the open without any cover and his nose was in a book. Remembering gloves would have been a huge improvement. My hands burned with the cold for the rest of the day. But I won the snowball fight! And the look on his face ... I would have done again.

I'm going to let my writing muscle rest a little and I'll be back to myself soon!
